Dowry Death

This complaint is filed seeking immediate legal action for the offence of dowry death punishable under Section 304B of the IPC, along with cruelty under Section 498A and relevant provisions of the Dowry Prohibition Act. The complainant submits that the deceased was consistently harassed, threatened, and subjected to cruelty by the accused and his family for unlawful dowry demands. Despite repeated pleas and attempts to resolve the issue, the harassment intensified, creating an unsafe and hostile environment for the deceased. The circumstances surrounding her unnatural death clearly indicate sustained cruelty soon before the incident, fulfilling the statutory presumption under Section 113B of the Evidence Act. The family of the deceased had provided dowry beyond their capacity, yet the demands continued. The conduct of the accused reflects deliberate acts leading to her death. Therefore, the complainant respectfully prays that this Hon’ble Court take cognizance of the offences, direct immediate investigation, arrest the accused, and ensure justice for the victim in accordance with law.
