Dowry

This petition is filed seeking legal action against the respondent for committing acts of dowry harassment punishable under Section 498A of the IPC and relevant provisions of the Dowry Prohibition Act. The petitioner submits that after marriage, the respondent and his family continuously demanded dowry in the form of cash, valuables, and other items, causing severe mental and physical harassment. The petitioner was subjected to repeated threats, cruelty, and abusive behavior for not fulfilling the unlawful demands. Despite attempts to reconcile, the harassment intensified, making the petitioner’s living conditions intolerable and unsafe. The acts of the respondent clearly constitute cruelty and dowry-related offences under law. The petitioner has evidence, witness support, and circumstances showing persistent dowry pressure. Therefore, the petitioner respectfully prays that this Hon’ble Court take cognizance of the offences, direct appropriate investigation, ensure protection of the petitioner, and proceed against the respondent in accordance with law to secure justice.
